Brighton Sign Denmark Midfielder, Matt O’Riley From Celtic

Brighton & Hove Albion have on Monday, 26th of August, 2024 announced the signing of Denmark midfielder Matt O’Riley from Scottish Premiership side, Celtic on a five-year contract.

Reuters reports that financial details were not disclosed by either club, but British media reported that the deal was worth around 25 million pounds ($33 million).

The 23-year-old London-born player, capped twice for Denmark, started his senior career at fellow Premier League club Fulham before moving to English League Two side Milton Keynes Dons.

Having joined Celtic in 2022, he scored 27 goals and provided 35 assists in 124 appearances for the club.

Brighton, who stunned Manchester United 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, next host English League One club Crawley Town in the League Cup on Tuesday.
