Ezekwesili to Speak at SERAP’s Media Roundtable

The Minister of Education under the administration of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, will on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, be speaking at a media roundtable under the theme, ”˜Towards developing effective policy framework to address the situation of victims of Boko Haram in Nigeria’ organised by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP). The event which is slated to hold at Westown Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos State is being organised in collaboration with the Ford Foundation, USA. A statement signed by SERAP’s Executive Director, Adetokunbo Mumuni said the roundtable will discuss issues concerning how to address the situation of the victims of Boko Haram, and promote access to justice and effective remedies for victims of the conflict in North East Nigeria. The statement added that ”˜The Roundtable will bring together important stakeholders such as members of the law enforcement and security agencies, the judiciary, bar associations, National Human Rights Commission, NGOs, members of the academic institutions, and the media. ”˜The Roundtable is part of our organisation’s project to promote accountability and reduce violence and associated human rights violations in the country as well as promote peace, security and effective respect for human rights including internally displaced persons and other victims of violence and armed conflict.’
