The governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has been asked by many interest groups that stormed the streets of Ado-Ekiti, to resign his position as governor of the state. The groups also lamented the alleged looting of the state’s treasury by the governor. The groups which staged a protest under the platform of Be The Change Organization (BCO) also saw labour unions, Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), artisans, market women, youth organizations and student bodies participating. Speaking to the protesters, the Publicity Secretary of CNPP in the state, Ayo Adelabu charged Fayose to resign from office due to his failure to live up to expectations. He further asked the governor to put up a defence in the N4.7 billion arms deal scandal.
