Federal Government to begin payment of N-Power Programme Recruits

The Federal Government is set to begin the payment of the monthly stipend of N30,000 to the 200,000 graduates currently under the N-Power job creation programme of the Buhari administration with 13 states having already submitted the verified lists of the graduates and more expected later this week.

Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President disclosed this during a news update programme. Also, it was stated that some graduates have already been posted to their places of primary assignments in some states. Payment of the monthly N30,000 will commence this month after verification and deployment has been carried out.Under the N-Power Volunteer Scheme, the president has announced the selection of 200,000 unemployed graduates as the first batch of the half a million graduates the Buhari administration plans to hire for the 2- year paid volunteer job programme.The president announced that the Social Investment Programmes would continue in 2017 with another allocation of N500,000.The Buhari administration has recently taken off with the N-Power and the School Feeding Programmes.States which have completed verification by weekend include Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Cross Rivers, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba and Zamfara states while verification and deployment has been completed in Benue, Cross Rivers and Kogi states.The Federal Government will pay the graduates their monthly allowance into their own bank accounts. 93% of the graduates have their accounts verified based on the Bank Verification Number (BVN).
