The Nigerian governors’ forum says they are interested in having access to the $3.2 billion from the World Bank so as to be able to curtail what they termed the fiscal challenges facing their individual states. This revelation was made known after a meeting with officials of the bank at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Wednesday night. Specifically, the forum’s chairman, and governor of Zamfara State, Governor Abdulaziz Yari argued that the forum took the decision to invite the Country Director of the World Bank, Rachid Benmessaoud, so that he would be able to brief them on the money in the World Bank which largely belonged to state governments but could not be accessed.Â
