A staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Christian Nwosu, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment or a N10 million fine by Justice Idris of a federal high court in Lagos for being found guilty of collecting N30 million bribe. The said N30 Million bribe was part of the money allegedly offered by a former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke in the run up to the 2015 general elections. Nwosu, who had earlier entered a plea bargain with the EFCC, has an option of going further with the trial. The defense counsels had requested for time to make a decision and the judge granted their plea, which necessitated an adjournment of the case till the 3rd of May.
