Ize-Iyamu says Oshiomhole is denying him access to state-owned media

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has said that Governor Adams Oshiomhole was intimidating him.Eze-IyamuHe alleged that Oshiomhole had denied him access to the state-owned Edo State Broadcasting Service (EBS) to carry out his campaign programmes. This he said was against the directive issued by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) that broadcast stations must use contents from all political parties.Ize-Iyamu, told a gathering of coalition of civil society organisations, in Benin, yesterday that “If we allow this injustice to continue, then, we are inviting anarchy. It will get to a point when our people may no longer respect the police.”He alleged that the governor was now oppressing people with the apparatus of Edo state.Edo State Commissioner for Information, Kassim Afegbua, however, said that the state-owned media organisation did not feature the PDP affairs because the party did not invite the station to cover its programmes.“They don’t invite EBS to any of their programmes,” Afegbua said.“Only on Friday, the manager sent reporters to cover their programme, but they sent them away”, he added.
