Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, the wife of Lagos State Governor has made a special appeal to women on the need to be strong and resilient in the midst of challenges rising from healthcare issues, unemployment, under-employment and lack of sufficient exposure to recognise and grab emerging opportunities for more prosperous and meaningful living.Mrs. Ambode made the appeal in her goodwill message at the 2015 Arise Women Conference, at the City of David Church, Victoria Island. She said, “the message of the theme: ”˜The Set time’, is instructive. It is simply telling us that God’s appointed time for us women will never fail.”Mrs Ambode added; “Women occupy a sensitive and strategic place in the life of any nation, beginning from the home front. The family mirrors the society and that explains why nations all over the world, largely reflect the quality that make up the country.”Mrs Ambode further disclosed that, “As women and managers of the home-front, all eyes are on us to take good care of our husbands, and bring up our children in the fear of God. We must teach them the virtues of honesty, morality, hard work and good character. This is for them to grow up to become productive and God-fearing citizens, for the good of our society”.One of the special guests of honour, wife of the Vice President, Pastor (Mrs.) Dolapo Osinbajo, urged the citizenry not to stop praying for the country, but to “continue to prophesy to her till she yields her fruits”.Mrs Osinbajo praised the convener for keeping the spirit going and the organising committee for keeping faith with the ideals of the conference.Pastor Siju Iluyomade, the convener of the Arise conference noted that the set time had come for the country to move forward, stressing that this must be activated by faith. The conference came to a climax with the presentation of awards to Pastor (Mrs.) Dolapo Osinbajo and Mrs. Bolanle Ambode respectively, in recognition of their enormous support for the conference.
