Makeup Essentials 101

Looking beautiful is every lady’s wish. I have not met any lady who prefers to remain plain and unkempt like an old maid. Looking pretty is serious business for ladies and a lot of ladies will go to any length to get the right products to enhance their beauty.Since we know it looking good doesn’t necessarily have to cost you too much, here are essentials things you must have to look pretty.First, love yourself. No use making up to ‘cover’ a face you don’t love…you will hardly ever be content, eventually. Some ladies make up because of a struggle with low self-esteem and insecurity. sure, makeup would make you look pretty, but if you feel horrible inside and  you are waiting for an imaginary person to tell you how pretty you look, trust me, you would only feel much worse by the end of the day.Love yourself, accept who you are, identify your areas of weakness and work on them. Do not let anybody bring you down with words, tell yourself over and over again that you are pretty, with or without makeup. There is nothing that is more beautiful than a glowing confident woman with a good self-esteem.  Remember the song; you can buy your hair if it won’t grow, you can fix your nose if he says so, you can buy all the makeup that MAC can make, but if you can’t look inside you and love the “you”. You’ll still be so unpretty. Feel pretty, love yourself.Healthy skin. Makeup sits well on beautiful skin. Get your skin glowing by drinking lots of water to flush out toxins in the body. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Don’t joke with exercise. Exercise keeps you fit and healthy. As much as possible, avoid long exposure to the sun. Use products that can moisturize and restore the skin Ph balance. Clean your face with facial cleansers and makeup wipes before going to bed. Sleep when you should, a good beauty sleep makes your facial skin relaxed and refreshed. Practice this diligently and you are on your way to a beautiful skin.Makeup Essentials for an everyday lookThe following are makeup products every woman must have with their general uses.Powder: Powder is used to set foundation and concealer in place. It will keep the skin looking fresh for hours. Just like Foundation, powder comes in different shades. Get a powder that is the right colour for you. Powder can be loose or dense. Experiment with the two and get one that works best for you.Foundation: Foundation is used to even out the skin tone and texture. It is important however to have the right foundation that matches your skin tone. The right foundation will blend with your skin and it will look like you are not wearing any foundation at all.  A wrong foundation tone will make you look like you are wearing a mask. A beauty specialist can help you determine the correct foundation for your skin tone.Concealers and correctors:  Correctors are products that are used below the eyelids to lighten dark circles under the eye. Correctors instantly lighten and brighten up the face. Apply to under eye darkness and set with loose or compact powder.Concealers are mostly used to cover up blemishes on the face. It is also used in this part of the world to highlight eyebrows making it well defined. Concealers should be a tone lighter than your skin tone.Eye shadow: Eye shadow helps to accentuate the eyes. When using this, make it simple. The saying less is more applies here. There’s is absolutely no elegance in going about with rainbow like eyes. Eye liner defines and enhances the eyes. Eyeliner can be liquid, or pencil. Whatever you do, do not apply liner to the inside rim of your eyelids to avoid infection and injury. Also, don’t line just the bottom of the eye.Other things you need are Eyebrow pencil to shape the brows, Mascara to make your lashes appear fuller. Dark ladies don’t really need blush as such but if you must use it, go for deep hues like rose or deep pink. Pastel pink works best for fair women.Do not forget your lipstick, gloss, lip pencil, makeup remover/wipes and cleansers.Stay pretty.
