Minimum Wage: FG increases offer to N62,000

According to multiple reports, The Federal Government of Nigeria has increased its offer of a new national minimum wage to N62,000, while organized labour has reduced its demand from N494,000 to N250,000.Recall that the organized labour had suspended a nationwide strike action on Tuesday, 4th of June, to resume negotiations with the Federal Government over terms for a new minimum wage.Labour demanded for N615,000 while FG offered N45,000 and later N54,000 at the early stages of the negotiations.As at the time of this report, the tripartite committee set up by the Federal government to oversee the negotiations and the labour unions are yet to find a common ground.
