A governorship candidate of Nasarawa State in the 2015 election, Yusuf Mohammed Agabi, was on Friday arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Agabi was dragged before the court over allegation of defrauding the Federal Government (FG) of N666.08 million.
He was docked alongside four others on a 46-count charge of embezzling N666.08m from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
Others docked with Agabi are; Akpore Okeroghene, Abibu Ayinla, Idowu Anthony Adewale and Ntu James Ngozi.
In his argument before the court, lawyer to the Commission, Paul Bassi, insisted that the accused persons fraudulently shared N666.08m belonging to the Federal Government, while working in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs between 4th of December, 2013 and December, 2014.
The lawyer said the offence is contrary to Section 13 and punishable under Section 68 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.
