New case of Ebola outbreak recorded in Congo

The World Health Organization has announced an outbreak of Ebola in northeast Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday, a recent case since April 22 when the virus led to the death of three persons in the area.Recent outbreak, according to WHO is taking toll on the equatorial forest region in Bas-Uele province, neighboring Central African Republic.Congo recorded its last case of Ebola in 2014, an incident which caused the death of 49 persons before it was checked. According to official figures.Health Minister Oly Ilunga, in a television broadcast corroborated the claims of the outbreak while assuring the population “not to panic”.He said the country “has taken all necessary measures to respond quickly and efficiently to this new outbreak”.According to WHO, it has begun a close working relationship with DR Congo authorities to assist with health workers and protective equipment in the hinterland, where there is difficulty of access to “rapidly control the outbreak”.West Africa’s had first shot of the disease in 2013, which killed 11,300 people in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia and has left some thousands of survivors with long-term health challenges.The WHO was bashed during the time for its slow response and not showing more concern to the outbreak
