‘Nigeria’s not at war’- ITSAD rebukes Fayose

Initiative to Save Democracy (ITSAD) on Saturday advised Governor Fayose to reduce his political rhetoric for the sake of national security and tranquillity.

Mr. Chidi Ndukwe, the convener of ITSAD in a statement said that the country was not at war as opposed to the impressions expressed by the governor.He settled his counsel on a reported declaration by Fayose who dressed in a military camouflage to present the state’s proposed 2017 budget before the State House of Assembly, noting that the nation was at war.His mode of dressing stirred up controversy with opposing party, APC who condemned his actions, the governor however brushed it aside, insisting that focus should be placed on his performance and not mode of dressing.According to Ndukwe, the governor’s comment in addition to his dressing has begun to raise heat. He said that immunity enjoyed by a state governor does not grant licence for the deliberate violation of the nation’s constitution and laws.
