Solomon Arase, former IG has denied meÂdia report that he stole 19 vehicles belonging to the police. The ex-IGP accused perÂsons bent on tarnishing his image as spearheading the falsehood against him.
Arase challenged the sponsors of the report to make public the number plates of the vehicles and the place they were found. In a statement he issued in Abuja on Monday, Arase threatened to seek legal reÂdress against those behind the damaging publication. He described as embarÂrassing for him to wake up yesterday morning to be confronted with calls and messages on the so-called 19 vehicles recovered from him.“I wish to reassure the general public that there was nothing like that. I did not take any police vehicle with me outside of what I am entiÂtled to and so, there couldn’t have been any vehicle recovÂered from me.“If there was any such, those behind this campaign should please make the number plates of the vehicles public and where they were recovered from. I urge those behind this campaign to face their official responsibilities.“I suspect there must be a disconnect somewhere because every information needed by my successor are provided in my hand-over notes. It’s unfortunate that this matter is being made a media issue because my successor has my telephone number and could have called me for any clarificaÂtion or even sent me a text message rather than adÂdressing the media on an isÂsue well documented in my hand-over notes”, he stated.Discover more from NewsBreakers
