Obanikoro Refunds 100 Million to the Nigerian Government

Following the clamp down on corrupt leaders by the Buhari government, Former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has returned N100 million after being apprehended by the EFCC.On confirmation of the payment, EFCC BOSS, Ibrahim Magu, declined the payment asking Mr Obanikoro to sign an agreement to refund about N600 million in his possession within a particular time. The minister declined to sign the agreement claiming he could not afford such huge amount.The former Minister for state currently faces charges of corruption connected with the embattled Former National security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, in the notorious arms deal involving about N4.5bn; which he collected about N2bn from the office of the former NSA between April 4,2014 and December 15, 2014.Head of Media and publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwajere, confirmed payment of a particular amount.On going investigations continue in the Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara, a phony company owned by Obanikoro and his sons where the N2bn was deposited.The Minister has also being implicated in the Ekiti election scandal of 2014 that brought into power the current governor, Ayo Fayose.
