PDP Chairman to Emerge from the North

By Correspondent

The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has approved the retention of the chairmanship of the party to the North. Speaking with media men after the committee’s meeting, the national chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, explained that the NEC approved all the recommendations of its zoning committee which was headed by the Akwa Ibom State governor, Emmanuel Udom. Other zoned positions include that of the national auditor, national publicity secretary and secretary of the party which were zoned to the South-West while the position of the deputy national chairman was zoned to the South. But very eminent members of the main opposition party from the South West which included Bode George, Ebenezer Babatope and others were, however, not in attendance at the meeting.
