Reports saying that the replacement of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas as Service Chiefs have been denied by the presidency.

Femi Adesina, Presidential Spokesman said the reports were not entirely true, he however disclosed that the defence chief was stepping down. This is due to his retirement from the Army next week, he is however yet to be replaced but the Chief of Naval Staff still has a short time more.Mr. Adesina said that the administration had repeatedly pledged commitment to transparency and accountability.He then urged the media to confirm their stories before publishing them to prevent speculation.
