This decision was made on Wednesday by the senate following the presentation of the report on mounting humanitarian crisis in the North-East by the ad hoc committee led by Shehu Sani.It was reported that Mr. Lawal’s company, Global Vision Limited benefited from inflated and phantom contracts, some of which were not executed at all which were awarded by PINE.It was said that he awarded a contract of over N200 million in March 2016 to clear ”˜invasive plant specie’ in Yobe. The lawmakers also found that the company, Global Vision Limited was founded to carry out ICT services but it received a contract to clear grass in 2016.”˜Babachir Lawal is a disgrace to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’, said Dino Melaye who also called for Mr. Lawal’s resignation and prosecution. The Senate therefore agreed that PINE should hand over all documents pertaining to contracts it had awarded and that all officials apart from Mr. Lawal found to have defaulted the law in the processes of the contracts be prosecuted.
