Troops kill female suicide bombers in Gwoza

Nigerian troops on Thursday, successfully neutralized 3 female suicide bombers in Gwoza,Borno state; they were sighted by members of vigilante from a distance and alerted the troopsabout the impending catastrophe. The very observant vigilante also noted that the women lookedsuspicious; walking awkwardly with bulging hijab and distinct from other female farmers.Col. SK Usman said “the suicide bombers noticed that they were being observed, they hurriedlyran towards troops aiming to detonate it on them. The troops neutralized 2 of the female suicidebombers, while the other ran back into the bush but was pursued.”Unfortunately “a soldier sustained injuries due to the impact of the explosion. The woundedsoldier is currently receiving treatment at a military medical centre and he is in stable condition.”Col. Usman saidRecall suspected suicide bomber was intercepted and neutralized as early as 6:30am by troops ofoperation Lafiya Dole at the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State.
