It has emerged from a one day national conference in Abuja, that Nigeria’s opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would do everything within its reach to stand against what it termed the culture of impunity allegedly being practised by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).The opposition party further lambasted the APC-led Federal Government (FG) for what it termed ‘growing authoritarianism’.According to a communiqué dished out through the conference National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo, the opposition party condemned what it sees as ‘sudden decline in the economy and quality of life of Nigerians.’The communiqué notes that the government of incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari is known for massive violation of human rights, constitutional infractions, invasion of a governor’s lodge and private homes, deliberate interference and instigation of crisis in the legislature.Other instances of rights violations pointed out by the PDP are; arm-twisting of the judiciary, nepotism in appointments, abuse of power and clamp down on opposition elements.
