The appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha as the Chief Judge (CJ) of Rivers State has been confirmed by the State House of Assembly.
The confirmation came in a letter from the state governor, Nyesom Wike, who had asked the assembly to confirm Justice Okocha as the substantive CJ of the state.
It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt had on Wednesday set aside the decisions of the Federal High Court, which earlier rejected Justice Okocha’s nomination as CJ.
The appellate court subsequently granted Governor Wike the power to approve her appointment as the CJ of the state.
