National Assembly Is Responsible For the Missing Budget – Presidency

The Presidency has reiterated that the questions about the missing 2016 Budget should be directed to the proper quarters, which is the National Assembly. Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President on Media and Publicity made this known on Tuesday while reacting to the report that the 2016 Budget Proposal was missing from the National Assembly. The presidential spokesman maintained that the proposed budget ceases to be a property of the presidency once the budget is passed. Shehu further stated that no matter what happens, nobody can withdraw the budget except the President himself. He added that, until the budget was said to be missing, the president has not withdrawn it.
