Breaking: Supreme Court Throws Out Wike’s Legal Action against Tribunal

The Supreme Court of Nigeria, on Tuesday threw into the dustbin the legal action initiated by sacked Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.The embattled governor had initiated the said suit to question the jurisdiction of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which sat in Abuja, to entertain the petition by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside.Wike had specifically argued that the tribunal sitting in Abuja does not have the jurisdiction over matters that took place in the state, with an addition that the tribunal should have sat in Rivers State and not Abuja.
