Supplementary Election: INEC Still Waiting for Audu’s Replacement

Ahead of Saturday’s supplementary election in Kogi State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to be notified of the late Prince Abubakar Audu’s replacement. This is in contrast to the news featured by a media outfit that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has put forward Alhaji Yahaya Bello to be the party’s flag bearer in the election. As at the time of filling this report, INEC is yet to get a correspondence from APC on the replacement for Audu. Crisis has been rocking the APC since jostling started for who represents the APC on the Kogi election ballot.Audu’s running mate, James Faleke, had written to APC to recognise him as the Governor-Elect while leaders of the party in Kogi State have favoured Mohammed Audu, the son of Prince Audu, to be the replacement for his father.
