Smartphones having an agricultural app were distributed to farmers yesterday by the federal government through the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI). The RICEADVICE smartphone distribution commenced with the training of 50 rice farmers extension officers on how to use the smartphones to boost rice production in the country.
The programme gathered participants from 6 pilot states of Ebonyi, Kebbi, Niger, Kano, Kogi and Nasarrawa where rice is produced with farming advantage.The Acting Executive Director of NCRI, Agboire Samuel said the app tool for the farmers provided relevant information and also was a source of employment for the beneficiaries.Discover more from NewsBreakers
