The Nigerian Customs Service, Tin Can Island generated 25.7 billion naira in November, 2016. This was revealed by the Customs Area Controller, Bashar Yusuf at a stakeholders meeting recently.
The controller made emphasis to seek out all avenues for maximum revenue collection especially in the current period of economic crisis which has added pressure on the service.He further charged investors to look at the potentials in exporting which abounds in the country and take advantage of same for their socio-economic benefits.He also encouraged them to make honesty, transparency and professionalism their watchword and ensure maximum supervision and monitoring in their various areas of duty.Finally, he expressed his appreciation for the Retired Controller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali for effectively repositioning the service to the extent that despite the recession globally, the service was still relentless on maintaining their statutory mandate.Discover more from NewsBreakers
